Kässbohrer Trailer Service — Scope of Work
Kässbohrer is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of silo trailers and cement tankers. Structurally, they are close relatives of the Spitzer trailers that are our primary specialisation: a pressurised aluminium tank, bottom aeration system and discharge ancillaries operating at up to approximately 2 bar. We therefore service Kässbohrer trailers with the same team, equipment and procedures:
- Discharge pneumatic system — aeration pads and mats, manifolds, shut-off valves, hoses and couplings, pressure gauges, safety valves
- Hatches and seals — EPDM/silicone seal replacement, cover straightening, hinges and latches
- Aluminium tank — PT weld inspection, certified TIG welding (EN ISO 9606-2), shell section replacement, pressure tests
- Running gear — SAF/BPW axles, air suspension, EBS/ABS brakes, electrical installation

TDT Inspections for Kässbohrer Trailers
The pressurised tank of a silo trailer is subject to TDT (Technical Supervision Office) oversight in Poland — a statutory inspection every 2 years is a condition of lawful operation. Accident Repairs
A dented tank after a collision, a cracked weld, damaged fittings — accident repairs on silo trailers are one of our core services:
- Assessment and quotation — on-site inspection or photo-based estimate within 24 hours; full cooperation with insurers
- NDT testing — penetrant testing (PT) of welds to determine the true extent of damage
- Tank repair — straightening, TIG welding with filler wire matched to the alloy, section replacement

Axles and Suspension — Kässbohrer Running Gear Service
Alongside the tank and discharge pneumatics, the trailer’s running gear is critical for safe and reliable operation. Kässbohrer silo trailers are standardly equipped with SAF or BPW axles (depending on year and series) and air suspension with Haldex or WABCO levelling valves. PHS Magnum provides a full running-gear service:
- SAF/BPW axles — wheel bearing and seal replacement, hub reconditioning, ABS sensor replacement
- Air suspension — air bag, shock absorber and levelling valve replacement, calibration after replacement
- EBS/ABS brakes — WABCO/Knorr-Bremse computer diagnostics, modulator replacement, brake disc and pad replacement, calibration prior to technical inspection
- Electrical installation — LED lighting, 7/15-pin sockets, wiring looms, sensors

Kässbohrer Silo Trailer Refurbishment and Repainting
A full refurbishment of a Kässbohrer silo trailer or cement tanker includes: shot-blasting of the tank and chassis (removal of corrosion, old coatings and discharge residues), application of an epoxy primer, two-coat topcoat in the customer’s chosen RAL colour, and restoration of lettering and operator livery. Refurbishments are carried out both following accident repairs and as planned maintenance — a typical cycle is every 8–12 years of operation. Full refurbishment lead time: 2–3 weeks.
