Wielton trailer service — scope of work

Wielton is the most popular Polish trailer manufacturer — its tippers, curtain-siders, and chassis make up a substantial share of transport fleets across the country. Structurally, these vehicles rely on proven components from European suppliers: SAF or BPW axles, WABCO or Knorr-Bremse braking systems, and air suspension. This means an independent service centre with access to component documentation can service Wielton trailers across the full range of work.

At PHS Magnum we carry out:

  • SAF/BPW axles and hubs — bearing replacement, seal replacement, ABS sensor replacement, hub reconditioning, play measurement
  • Air suspension — replacement of air bags, shock absorbers, levelling valves, and trailing arms
  • EBS/ABS braking system — electronic diagnostics, modulator replacement, disc and pad replacement, calibration, preparation for technical inspection
  • Electrical system — LED lighting, wiring looms, 7/15-pin sockets, sensors
  • Structural welding — S355 steel and aluminium, welders certified to EN ISO 9606, structural work carried out under the EN 1090 regime
  • Sideboards, curtains, and floors — repair and replacement of aluminium sideboards, floor boards, curtains, and frame structures

Accident repairs on Wielton trailers

A collision, a tipper rollover during unloading, or chassis damage at a construction site — these are the typical scenarios that bring Wielton trailers to our facility. Accident repair scope:

  1. Damage assessment and quotation — on-site inspection or photo-based assessment, written quote within 24 hours, direct liaison with insurers for third-party and comprehensive claims
  2. Chassis straightening — geometry measurement of the undercarriage, straightening of longitudinal and cross members under press
  3. Certified welding — structural repairs with full welding documentation
  4. Component replacement — axles, beams, sideboards, uprights, curtain frames
  5. Painting — surface preparation, primer, topcoat in RAL colours, restoration of markings

Following structural repairs, we carry out a geometry check and prepare the vehicle for technical inspection.

Periodic inspections in line with manufacturer recommendations

Wielton recommends periodic inspections in line with its service schedule — in practice, every 12 months or more frequently under intensive operation (construction sites, aggregates, continuous haulage). A standard inspection at our facility covers: axle and suspension check, EBS diagnostics, brake wear assessment, lubrication, electrical and lighting check, and structural condition assessment (welds, corrosion, fatigue cracking).

For fleet operators, we offer fixed inspection schedules with due-date reminders — a single visit combines the trailer inspection with any current repair needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — PHS Magnum is an independent service centre with no authorisation agreement with Wielton S.A. We have been repairing Wielton trailers for many years using genuine manufacturer parts and certified replacement components for SAF/BPW axles, braking systems, and suspension. All work is documented in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.

We handle the full range of Wielton designs: tippers (NW series), curtain-siders (NS Curtain Master), skeletal trailers, flatbeds, and chassis. Work covered includes chassis mechanics, axles, EBS/ABS brakes, electrical systems, steel and aluminium structure welding, and bodywork including curtains and sideboards.

Wielton fits mainly SAF or BPW axles, depending on the series and year of manufacture. We service both brands in full: bearing replacement, hub reconditioning, seal and ABS sensor replacement. SAF and BPW parts are held in stock at our Chorula facility.

Yes. Wielton air suspension uses standard industry components: air bags, shock absorbers, levelling valves (Haldex, WABCO), and trailing arms. We replace all elements, calibrate the system, and check the geometry after repair.

We diagnose WABCO and Knorr-Bremse systems electronically — reading fault codes, calibrating modulators, and checking wheel sensors and wiring. After repair we carry out a leak test and full functional check before the vehicle is returned.

Yes — we weld both steel (S355) and aluminium structures. Our welders hold qualifications to EN ISO 9606 and all structural work is carried out under the EN 1090 regime. Chassis geometry is measured after any structural welding.

Minor damage (sideboards, curtain, lighting): 1–3 working days. Chassis straightening with geometry measurement and welding: 1–2 weeks. Extensive accident repair involving structural component replacement: 2–4 weeks. We prepare a written quote within 24 hours of inspection — photos are sufficient.

Yes. Our mobile service team covers a 300 km radius from Chorula — including most of Poland, eastern Germany, and northern Czech Republic. On-site work includes diagnostics, pneumatics repairs, braking system work, and electrical faults. Major structural repairs are planned at our Chorula workshop. Contact: +48 602 716 551.
