In brief
Spitzer SF series trailers are aluminium non-tipping silo trailers with a horizontal (lying) tank and a capacity of approx. 23–63 m³. Discharge is pneumatic-aeratic — compressed air at up to approx. 2 bar fluidises the material, which flows towards the discharge collector. This is Spitzer’s core, most widely used silo trailer family for PE/PP granules, flour, cement and animal feed.
Manufacturer: Spitzer Silo-Fahrzeugwerke GmbH, headquartered in Elztal-Dallau (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) — a family business founded in 1872.
PHS Magnum in Chorula (Gogolin municipality, 4 km from the A4 motorway) offers a full service capability for the SF series: pneumatics, aluminium welding, refurbishment, accident repair, TDT pressure vessel inspections and a Spitzer SF/SK spare parts stock.

Spitzer SF series — technical overview
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Non-tipping silo trailer (horizontal / lying tank) |
| Capacity | approx. 23–63 m³ |
| Tank material | Aluminium (cylindrical tank) |
| Discharge | Pneumatic-aeratic, compressed air up to approx. 2 bar |
| Aeration system | Aeration pads in compartments |
| Variants | P (standard) · Z (steered axle / forced steering) |
| Typical loads | PE/PP granules, flour, cement, gypsum, calcium carbonate, starch, animal feed, pellets |
How the capacity is encoded: in the model number, the final two digits indicate the nominal tank volume in m³ (e.g. SF 2745 ≈ 45 m³). The exact capacity of any individual trailer is confirmed after checking the VIN.
SF series models
- SF 2734/2 P — approx. 34 m³; suited to denser materials (e.g. cement, gypsum) where payload mass is the limiting factor rather than volume
- SF 2745/3 P — approx. 45 m³; a versatile, mid-range option
- SF 2755/4 P — approx. 55 m³; widely used for granules and medium-density bulk materials
- SF 2763/4 Z — approx. 63 m³; steered axle version for lightweight PE/PP granules that make full use of the available volume
What the SF series carries
The SF series handles a broad range of bulk materials that respond well to fluidisation:
- PE/PP granules (HDPE, LDPE, PP) and recyclate — bulk density 0.4–0.6 g/cm³
- Flour, starch — requiring FDA-grade silicone aeration pads (food contact)
- Cement, gypsum, calcium carbonate, mortars, fillers — mineral materials (smaller SF capacities match volume to payload mass)
- Animal feed, pellets — low-density materials
SF series service at PHS Magnum
We have specialised in Spitzer silo trailer service for over 30 years. For the SF series we carry out:
- Pneumatic and aeration system work — replacement of aeration pads (EPDM for cement/gypsum, FDA silicone for flour), safety valves and butterfly valves
- TIG aluminium welding — repair of tank cracks and bracket damage (TDT-qualified welders)
- Accident repair — frame straightening, tank repair, documentation for insurers and TDT
- Paintwork refurbishment — abrasive blasting to Sa 2.5, epoxy primer, 2K PUR topcoat
- TDT inspections — preparation and coordination of pressure vessel inspections
Consumable parts are covered separately: Spitzer SF/SK spare parts.
